Chris Lilly's Blog # 2
In all transparency, I'm going to be experimenting with how these readings are worded and structured. Below is how these were presented to the members of the Flow Your Mojo Writing Community and since I'm opening this up to the writers of the world, I need to be transparent about the intention behind how these readings work and some minor housekeeping for those who don't know me:
These are not personal energetic collective readings. These are aimed toward creative writers, screenwriters, and fiction authors and their writing journeys. If you aren't a writer and find the message useful, supercool! I'm not going to take that away from you. I'm just being honest with the intention I used when I pulled the cards.
You have free will to accept and apply the message or completely ignore it.
You are allowed to see something different in the cards than me.
Sometimes the cards don’t make sense at first, so let them sit for a bit and see if anything resonates later.
Reversed cards could be blocked, delayed, healing, or internal energy.
Please comment on how/if this resonates with you and let me know if there is anything I can do better.
Please share this with anyone you feel might find this useful.
If you want a free one-card reading for your writing project, instructions on how to get that are below.
In the words of another popular tarot reader, MadamAdam, "If this reading came across your feed then it's probably for you; let' do it."

On the Outside: The Four of Pentacles
Coming out of the other side of the holidays, this seems to make complete sense. The Four of Pentacles usually describes an individuals who are scared to give up their resources, clutching their purse strings tight. Maybe they have all the money in the world, but are afraid to lose it all.
With the skeleton [possibly symbolizing the Death card] standing behind the main figure, I get a sense that something is looming or threatening you/your creativity. It's almost like you're holding on to something so tight and scared to let it go.
On the Inside: The Fool
A new journey, a new cycle. On the inside it seems you've already made the jump. New year, new you.
Putting Them Together:
Internally it seems you're ready to make the/a creative jump, but your actions on the outside are not reflecting the new creative ideas you want to explore this year.
Consider what you are not releasing. What are you holding on to. An old project? Your old self? A limiting belief? Since the Death card represents change -- even though not in this reading -- what are you afraid of changing?
Writing/Journal Prompt:
I'd like you do to get a journal and ask the skeleton what message it's trying to tell you. Are you listening? Are you scared? What if the skeleton is there to help you grow, not hinder or scare you?
Extra Insights:
Numbers: 4, 0
Colors: Yellow, Black, Red
Major Arcana Message: 0 + 4 = 4, Emperor. He is considered the Father of the tarot deck. There's a lot of masculine energy with this card. Traditionally, fathers are rule makes, boundary setters, and protectors.
Deck used: The After Tarot. The traditional Rider-Waite-Smith deck has a set of images. The After Tarot depicts the event that happens right after those images. I usually associate these cards with my higher/future self.
